Great post and very inspiring! I can’t wait to see what great information and tips you have to share with us.

As you say each person in life faces struggles, but for some reason we often think that we are alone in this.

My mom (wise as always!) told me once that even when you think your problems are really bad she bets if you put 10 random people in a room and each person shares what they are struggling with you will probably be very happy with your “problems” in the end!

    Kind Regards

      Hey Lynne,

Thank you very much! I am VERY excited about my next podcast which will be called, “Relationship vs. Religion” In that episode, I will be explaining the difference that so many people struggle with in understanding and discernment between the two.

Your mom surely sounds wise, I like that and it is probably very true. It’s a good way to keep things in perspective without minimizing your problems and current situation.

Thanks for sharing on here, have a blessed day!

Awesome show – I’ve only recently go into the whole podcast scene as I didn’t really know what they were about beforehand ( this was a great subject by the way!) I’m wondering – do you have any plans to release one on positive thinking/ positive vibes? That would interest me greatly ( and many other readers one would think! )

      Hey Chris,

Thank you for the support and feedback! Also, thanks for sharing your thoughts on here because that is valuable and really helpful. This first one is about my story and from there I will be creating episodes around my mission and vision of the site. To find out more check out the About Me section and then use the blueprint for site navigation on the How to Find a Purpose in Life 101.

My next podcast will most likely be something that I am very passionate about it. I will be discussing Relationship vs. Religion. There may be some talk for positive thinking and I can give my views on that in a later episode and/or blog post! Thanks for sharing what you’d like to hear about…I will definitely plan to do this in the future.

      Have a blessed day Chris!

    Hello Matt!

I don`t quite understand this, are you doing your own radio show, or it´s something you put on your website? Still, it`s nice of you that you are sharing your story for the reason you mention. I hope it will work the way you intended.

    All the best!

Great podcast! It’s hard to believe this is the first one; you’re very natural at it. Thank you for sharing your story. It sounds like you’ve always known your own mind and what you wanted and didn’t want, even when you were going through difficult times.

I’m not religious, but I can relate to that turning point where we need to decide what the right path of our lives will be.

    Hi Matt

I enjoyed your podcast, I am one of 7 children and the only one who ever and still goes to church, I see church much like a hospital to help us improve and understand who we are.. I have had God in my life from an early age and I love him with all my heart, am I perfect certainly not but I strive to be like my savior, I cannot say I know what it is like to have an addiction or drink cause it is something that has never interested me. The main thing here is it is not where you were at it is about were your going, I commend you for the trust you put in God which enabled you to turn your life round. I am a firm believer in a time and a season for everyone and everything. My mum and dad did find God which I am pleased about however she did pass away quite young and I realized as hard as it was that she had completed her purpose and it was time to go home

      Hey Katie,

thank you so much for sharing on here, I really appreciate it. 7 children aka 6 siblings, wow that’s a lot, must have been a busy household growing up! I like your analogy of church being like a hospital. A church can bring a lot of healing to our lives, but the church is not just the building, it is the Body of Christ…you and me.

That’s fine that you are not perfect, because it is not how you see yourself but rather how God sees you. And God sees you as righteous, pure, and holy…this is not something we can brag about it in our own right, we can only boast in our savior Jesus Christ. We fall short of God’s standard all the time, but because of His grace, love, and mercy…He sent His only Son to die for us and for our sins so that we can be seen as righteous in His eyes and be invited in to a personal, intimate relationship with Him…That is what it’s all about! (Having a personal relationship with God and seeking His will above all else).

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” Romans 8:1 ESV

Thank you for commending me but even the ability to have faith and trust in God to turn my life around is a gift from God and does not come from me. So I boast in God alone and have nothing to boast about myself…

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV

Thanks again Katie for sharing, it is clear that you have a heart for God and that is so awesome! I too, love God with all my heart. As for your siblings, keep fighting the good fight and know that all you can do is continue to plant seeds and pray. That is our role and the rest is up to God.

Hope this helps, have a blessed day! 🙂

    Hey Matt,

Just finished listening to your podcast. So glad you got it setup!
My dad went to JMU, and I had thought about going there myself.

    Thanks for sharing your story.
It’s so good for others to hear real life experiences. I have definitely appreciated the older guys in my life who intentionally poured back into me and tried to share their stories with me too. Way to share your story, be real, and give others an opportunity to learn from your mistakes.

I’ve had some similar experiences myself, and can vouch that Jesus is real and is worth it.
One of the hardest and scariest decisions for me was the separation from my clique and group of friends.
However, I found that a season of loneliness was totally worth a life of freedom and purpose.

    Keep at it!

Wow that is too cool, small world! Thanks for listening by the way, that means a lot to me because I know it’s roughly 30 minutes of your time. So great to hear that you’ve had older, wiser people pour into your life that is extremely important.

Thank you for testifying about Jesus, amen to that! The nice part to is that it is just a “season” and in my experience, God did the same thing but then opened me up to a whole new brotherhood of a bond deeper than friends…he blessed me a with a community of Brothers in Christ who share life, get real, and sharpen each other to grow closer in our personal relationship with Jesus.

Thanks for the support and I will keep you posted on my next podcast! I have been sick for the past 5 days, but hope to start creating my next one over the next few weeks!

If this is your first podcast, you must be a very talented guy, it’s very smooth presented. If people share their own story the way you do, the audience is much more likely do undestand and adopt all the good advice that comes along with it.

Your podcast is a good example for how much we all can learn from each others experiences. I am curious about your next podcasr episode and will come back to hear it!
