A Quick update to the FIL Community

By | April 30, 2016

Hello!Hey Everyone!

Welcome back, I am excited to be writing a new blog post and working on the website again and connecting with you all. I have really missed working on the site and delivering truthful, real, new, AND exciting content.

It has been a little over a month since I created my last post, which was a podcast on “Insatiable Desires.” So in reality, it hasn’t been TOO long, but I feel that I have definitely lost the consistency I had when I first started.

In this post, I want to fill you in on and update you on my life before creating my next piece of content for you all. First off, you can expect me to be consistently posting again as God has reignited this fire and this passion in my life! 😀

But God…

Truth be told, my passion had gone stale or at least reached a low point, because I felt lost without direction on how to proceed with the website.

I froze up and got paralyzed thinking about, “what’s next?” And then I kept getting bummed out because of the limited amount of time that I have to create new content on here and grow the site.

But God…But God has given me new hope and reignited the fire and the passion within my soul to keep working on what I love! 🙂

Where & What Have I Been Up To?

Well the number one reason that I have not been working on my site (other than the part I just mentioned about my passion above) is because I got engaged on November 28th, 2015 to my beautiful bride-to-be, Claire! 🙂Engaged!

As a result, I have been busy planning for the wedding and receiving a lot of help from loved ones along the way as well.

I’d say working full-time and wedding planning left me with little to no free time. But the truth is, if you are truly passionate about something and it is pleasing to God, then you will always find time for it and He will always provide time for you.

Since you last heard from me, I have:

  • Gotten engaged!
  • Transitioned to a new role within my company (for about 5 months now)
  • Become more engaged/involved with my friends through the young adult group at church.
  • Explored a new 6-week class at the Church that is designed to help you understand and discover spiritual gifts, and then discover your main spiritual gifts and how to use them.
  • Made new friends at work and God has used me to share my testimony and the gospel there!

As a result of the 2nd to last bullet point, I am now getting ready to help teach the middle schoolers on Sunday nights at my church.

I love public speaking and delivering a message to people and I am really excited, honored, and blessed to be able to serve and help out!

It’s cool how that works – when you are able to seek God and discover how to align your gifts/strengths to what you enjoy & love doing, it blesses and serves others and consequently blesses and serves you as well.

Don’t Trade the Valleys

I have also had some challenges in some of my relationships with loved ones as well as in my job, but no matter what happens, no matter how often I trip and stumble, I continuously turn back to God and seek Him. I cling to Him and place my faith and hope in Him even when I don’t understand.

Looking back, I wouldn’t trade any of the valleys in my life for complete ease and comfort because God delivers me (and you) from every single one of them. I would not be where I am today without those challenges and those valleys.

God has drawn me closer to him in a deeper, more intimate relationship. It has grown me spiritually, filled me up more, enabling me to love others more and to forgive more. God delivers

It is all part of the process of growing closer to God, having our perspective adjusted to the absolute truth, and understanding the true meaning of having fulfillment in life. 🙂

I hope you all enjoyed this post, I hope it was helpful in giving you a window into my life over the past 6 months dating back to when I got engaged in November.

I hope that this general update has helped you in some way and at the very least allowed me to connect with you again on some level.

What Would You Like?

I want to hear your feedback, I want to know what you would like to hear about. What content and topics would you like me to do my next piece of content on? I have been praying about it and have a couple ideas in my mind, but I want to hear from YOU so that I can start creating content based on what’s going to be relevant and helpful for YOU.

Please share your updates in the comment section below – I’d love to hear more about what’s new in your lives! Feel free to leave a comment below. If you’re new to the site, I would love to hear from you as well!

Thank you all and stay on the lookout for my next piece of content, which I will be thinking about and planning to publish on Saturday. With my schedule, my plan is to create 1 blog post per week (each Saturday).

That won’t always be a perfect schedule, but I will do my best ( for example: I’ll be in Florida most of this coming week for my cousin’s college graduation and will be driving back all day Saturday.)
